Well here we are, 24 hours in and almost close to 300 views. So what if I contributed to 11 of those views, number don’t lie! I’m just a suburban dad wanting to talk sports. Who could have imagined this kind of fame!

Numbers don’t lie.

By now I’m sure all of you have seen that ESPN has moved up their Chicago Bulls last dance documentary of the 97-98 season. It will be starting April 19th and is a five part series. Clearly this is what we need in a time of quarantine.

Growing up watching the Bulls was so magical. You knew that there was no way they could lose, ever. It was like being a Yankees fan during their run in the late 90s & early 2000’s. Or a Patriots fan watching Tom Brady and their reign of domination.

Before all of that. The kings we were Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls ! The documentary will focus on the 97-98 season, and their quest for a for a second three peat. It should provide riveting commentary from Michael Jordan and many others. A fun story that most of us already know: Jordan once punched Steve Kerr in practice, because Kerr was sticking the defense to him.

We will provide a recap blog after each episode!
My intention was to write a blog on the best Third Base Coaches in the history of baseball. Since this position is so important to the team, I wanted to give these overlooked stars their shine.

However, once I started researching this topic, one question kept popping into my mind? Why don’t third bases coaches who are promoted to Manager, continue to coach third base… ?
Let’s take Football for example, usually an offensive or defensive coordinator will get a job as a head coach and still assume the coordinator duties. Therefore, they are the head coach / coordinator. Why doesn’t this happen in baseball ? Why can’t the third base coach also be the manager

Have third base coaches been standing their entire career just to get a promotion so they can sit on the bench as manager. Have we uncovered one of the great mysteries of baseball?

Don’t forget to comment or like. Have a blessed day, Mumble Nation.
