Have we uncovered one of the great mysteries of Baseball?

My intention was to write a blog on the best Third Base Coaches in the history of baseball. Since this position is so important to the team, I wanted to give these overlooked stars their shine.

However, once I started researching this topic, one question kept popping into my mind? Why don’t third bases coaches who are promoted to Manager, continue to coach third base… ?

Let’s take Football for example, usually an offensive or defensive coordinator will get a job as a head coach and still assume the coordinator duties. Therefore, they are the head coach / coordinator. Why doesn’t this happen in baseball ? Why can’t the third base coach also be the manager

Have third base coaches been standing their entire career just to get a promotion so they can sit on the bench as manager. Have we uncovered one of the great mysteries of baseball?

Don’t forget to comment or like. Have a blessed day, Mumble Nation.
